It's been a decade since Jamie released his first singer-songwriter album, "Chasing
Ghosts", and now, by popular demand, he presents 12 more original songs, written or
co-written by Jamie, along with three cover songs. Once again, he tells stories with
humor and pathos of people and events that have made an impression on him over the years.
The CD features some of his close musical friends accompanying him, including Henry
Koretzky, Bruce Campbell and Kevin Neidig from Pennsylvania and Mitzi Cowell, Naim Amor,
Gary Mackender and others from Tucson. The album also features Aoife Clancy on a duet
with Jamie and a wonderful performance by Jenny Ford, Jamie accompanying her on guitar
and harmony.
Finally, Jamie was persuaded to go into the studio to record some of his favorite
Hawaiian songs. He was always a bit reluctant to do this because he is not Hawaiian and
because of that felt he could not do the songs justice. But when Hawaiian friends
encouraged him, he relented and this is the result.
It's an album that really does feature Jamie! All the instruments you hear are played
by him, as well as all the voices (well, Mitzi hits one high note!) Listen as he plays
guitar (slack key and standard tunings), Kamaka ukuleles (baritone and tenor) and dobro
on the dozen songs and one instrumental.
